I made this baby blanket for a friend. It's blue and white with scalloped edges at the top and bottom of the blanket. In the picture, it is draped over a love seat.

Indian Cuisine

When I want to go out to eat, I usually go to the Indian restaurant because I am always in the mood for Indian food. Here in this picture I have vegetable samosas (on the left), Basmati rice (front), vegetables with masala sauce (right), and Naan bread in the basket in the center of the table. These were some of the buffet items. It was absolutely delicious!

Variety of Cupcakes from Cami Cakes

I wanted to get a variety of cupcakes so that my family and I could enjoy them. The cupcakes tasted homemade and the icing was just right.

I took a trip to ATL and visited a black owned cupcake bakery called Cami Cakes. This bakery is so cute and charming, and I just loved the friendly atmosphere. Oh, and the cupcakes were Delicious! (to check out the website, please click on the title of this post)

Afgan

This was my very first crocheted afgan I made for a friend. She requested a black and White afgan with slate blue, orange, and yellow fringe tassels on the side.

Crochet poncho

A friend of mine requested a crochet poncho for her little girl to wear. It is brown with a little flower in the middle and a high collar. I made a tam hat to go with it (not shown). It's very nice.

Whole Wheat Choc. Chip Cookies

These cookies are wonderful and easy to make. I am a huge chocolate chip fan. I used whole wheat flour instead of all purpose flour. I can't tell the difference. I also used Ghirardelli's 60% cacao bittersweet chocolate chips.

Yummy Cupcakes

I had a taste for chocolate cake with vanilla icing. I decided to make cupcakes instead of a cake. I wanted something cute, sweet and yummy. The cake is made from scratch, but the icing is store bought. They were so delicious that I almost ate them all. :)

Baking Science- Honey whole wheat bread

I made this bread myself. I used a recipe from a friend of mine who makes bread on a regular basis. This bread is delicious. I teach a baking science class at a local university, and we discuss wheat and gluten development. We discuss the functions of wheat flour, good quality gluten, and factors that may affect gluten development. I love to bake, and I am a big fan of homemade bread.
